Psychology Services and Fees Inverell

Sapphire City Psychology provides evidence-based psychological treatment for adults aged 18 years and over. We offer face-to-face and Telehealth appointments tailored to individual needs, with a particular focus on trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapies.

Whether you are accessing support through Medicare, NDIS, workers compensation or self-referral, we aim to make the process clear and accessible.

Psychological Services Available

We provide professional support for a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges. Treatment is personalised and delivered using proven therapeutic approaches.

  • EMDR Intensive Therapy

EMDR Intensive Therapy provides longer appointments delivered over a shorter timeframe. Sessions are typically scheduled as two-hour appointments, often completed several times within one or two weeks.

This structured approach can help clients focus on specific concerns without lengthy gaps between sessions.

  • Standard EMDR Therapy

EMDR therapy is an evidence-based treatment widely used to assist individuals experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, stress, panic attacks, phobias and other psychological concerns.

Appointments are delivered through a traditional therapy schedule based on individual treatment goals.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a highly regarded psychological treatment that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It is commonly used to support anxiety, depression, stress management and relationship difficulties.

  • Telehealth Appointments

Telehealth consultations are available via secure and user-friendly platforms. A unique link is sent directly to your device, allowing you to attend your appointment from a private and convenient location.

Most clients can access Telehealth using a smartphone, tablet or computer without downloading additional software.

Medicare, NDIS and Referral Options

Sapphire City Psychology accepts referrals through several pathways.

  • Medicare Referrals

Clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and GP referral may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per appointment.

The appointment fee is $230, resulting in an out-of-pocket expense of $131.05 after the rebate has been processed. Rebates are generally deposited into your nominated bank account within 24 to 48 hours.

  • NDIS Participants

Appointments are available for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. Fees are charged in accordance with current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

  • Self-Referrals

Individuals can contact Sapphire City Psychology directly without a referral. The standard appointment fee is $230 per consultation.

  • Workers Compensation

Workers compensation appointments are available, with fees charged in accordance with current SIRA guidelines or as approved by the insurer for intensive treatment programs.

Why Consider EMDR Intensives?

Traditional therapy schedules do not suit everyone. EMDR Intensives provide concentrated treatment over a shorter period, allowing clients to focus on their primary concerns with fewer interruptions between sessions.

Because sessions occur closer together, treatment momentum is often maintained. Less time is spent reviewing previous appointments, allowing more time to focus on therapeutic work and progress. For some individuals, six sessions delivered over one or two weeks may be more practical than attending appointments over several months.

Additional Fees and Appointment Policies

Letters and reports are charged according to applicable Australian Psychological Society recommended fee schedules or relevant NDIS pricing arrangements.

Appointment cancellations and reschedules may attract fees.

  • Less than 24 hours' notice: 100% of appointment fee
  • Between 24 and 48 hours' notice: 50% of appointment fee
  • More than 48 hours' notice: No cancellation fee

Medicare rebates are not available for missed appointments. NDIS late cancellation fees apply in accordance with current NDIS guidelines.

Fees and Rebates

Medicare: A Medicare rebate of $98.95 is available. This will leave eligible individual clients with an out-of-pocket expense of $131.05 per appointment (appointment fee $230). The full fee needs to be paid on the day of your appointment. Our healthcare management system will process the rebate into your nominated bank account, usually within 24-48 hours.

Note: The Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees 2024-2025 has the standard 46-60 minute consultation fee at $311.00. Sapphire City Psychology has fees set lower than the APS suggested fee.

NDIS: Appointments for self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants are available. Per appointment (50-minute) fees will be charged based upon the current NDIS pricing arrangements and price limits. Please click on the NDIS Referral Form button on the contact page to initiate contact with us.

Self-referral: Appointment fees are set at $230 per appointment

Workers' compensation: Fees will be charged to your insurer based upon the current SIRA guidelines or as agreed with your insurer for EMDR intensives.

Letter and report preparation: Fees for completing letters and reports will be charged at applicable rates based upon the Australian Psychological Society National Schedule of Recommended Fees, or NDIS Pricing Arrangements

Other: Please phone us or complete the Self/Agency Referral Form on the contact page, and we will discuss your referral and the applicable fee structure.

Missed appointments, reschedules and cancellations: In line with recommendations from the Australian Psychological Society, fees may be applicable for late rescheduling or appointment cancellation requests or for unattended appointments without notice. With less than 24 hours' notice, 100% of the usual appointment fee will be charged. If 24-48 hours' notice is provided, 50% of the usual fee will be charged. Providing greater than 48 hours' notice may allow us sufficient time to offer the appointment to another client who may be on an appointment waiting list; therefore, no fee will apply in this case. Unfortunately, Medicare rebates are not available for missed appointments. For clients under NDIS funding, a late cancellation is anything less than 2 clear business days' notice. If you cancel late or do not attend an appointment, your NDIS Plan will be charged the session fee for that appointment, in line with NDIS Guidelines.
